Best Practices
The Postgraduate Department of English and Other Languages, Naipunnya School of Management, has introduced a range of innovative programmes during the academic year 2026–2027 as part of its commitment to student development, community engagement, and holistic education. As a department best practice, Abhinaya Theatre Workshop was organized to enhance students’ acting abilities, creativity, communication skills, and stage confidence through theatre-based learning techniques. The department also implemented Educatio, a community outreach initiative in which postgraduate students conducted classes for government school students, thereby fostering social responsibility while contributing to the educational development of the community. Another distinctive initiative, Speak Strong, Fluent Futures: English Training for School Support Staff, focused on improving the communication skills of school helpers, non-teaching staff, and support personnel through training in classroom-related communication, speaking confidence, and basic professional English. Promoting environmental awareness and innovation, the department organized the Green Idea Pitch Competition under the theme “Innovate for a Sustainable Future,” where students presented creative eco-friendly solutions on topics such as plastic-free alternatives, renewable energy, waste management, and sustainable products. These initiatives reflect the department’s distinctiveness in integrating academic learning with creativity, communication, social commitment, and sustainability, thereby preparing students to become competent, responsible, and socially conscious individuals.
