Best Practices

Best Practice 1 : Bharath Paryatan

Bharath Paryatan is the flagship national tour programme of the PG Department of Tourism and Management. Designed and executed entirely by postgraduate MTTM students, this initiative provides immersive exposure to the cultural, geographical, and social diversities of India. As part of their academic identity, students specializing in travel and tourism management gain first-hand experience in planning, organizing, and managing nationwide tours. The programme not only strengthens professional competencies but also fosters unity, cultural appreciation, and practical learning beyond the classroom.

Best Practice 2 : Taksh – 2026

Taksh – 2026 is an inter-departmental management fest exclusively coordinated by BBA students of the department. The event comprises multiple levels of competitions, forums, and cultural showcases, all designed to highlight managerial skills, creativity, and teamwork. By independently managing the fest, students demonstrate leadership, organizational ability, and innovation. Taksh has become a platform for young managers to engage with peers across disciplines, exchange ideas, and celebrate the spirit of collaboration and excellence.

Best Practice 3 : Project Access Kerala

Project Access Kerala represents the department’s distinctive contribution to inclusive tourism development. Through this initiative, students conduct accessibility audits, inclusive destination mapping, and awareness programmes in collaboration with state and national-level organizations. The project emphasizes social responsibility by promoting accessible tourism for all, including differently-abled travelers. By engaging in research, advocacy, and practical interventions, students contribute to building Kerala as a model of inclusive and sustainable tourism, aligning academic learning with societal impact.
